Dr. Charu is a family practitioner who has trained and worked in the UK prior to moving to Singapore. She graduated from Pondicherry University, India in 1995 and was pursuing a paediatric career for over 3 years before moving to the UK in 1998. She continued training in Paediatrics and Neonatology in the UK in various hospitals and obtained Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, (MRCPCH, London) in 2001.In 2001, she chose to change career paths and started her General Practice training in the UK. She then practiced as a GP in Cardiff, Wales from 2005 – 2011. She moved to Singapore in 2011 and has practiced for many years at a clinic serving mainly the expatriate population in Singapore.During her career, she obtained a Diploma in Family planning (UK), a Diploma in Practical Dermatology from Cardiff University and is a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (UK). Stress is a huge factor in many families’ lives and Charu enjoys using her experience to approach health in a holistic fashion and places emphasis on prevention.

How do I make payment

You will make a payment directly to the provider you have an appointment with. We do not charge a fee for making an appointment.
Is bloodwork required to be done for a Menopause diagnosis?

The short answer is NO. A diagnosis is usually based on self reported symptoms, in combination with your medical history, age and sometimes your family medical history. However, a doctor may order blood tests to rule our other possible causes of your symptoms.
What type of medications do you prescribe?

Doctors prescribe any medication that is required to treat your symptoms effectively. For some women this may mean hormonal treatment, while others require a low dose anti-depressant or holistic care.
Who can make an appointment

How much does an appointment cost

Do your doctors write prescriptions?

Is a consultation with a Menopause doctor covered by my health insurance or Medisave?

This depends entirely on the type of health care insurance that you have and which provider you make an appointment with. Please check your insurance coverage for consults completed by a General Practitioner / Family doctors and or specialists like an OBGYN before making an appointment. After an appointment you will be provided with a receipt that you can submit to your insurance to claim back the money.
Are these doctors licensed to practice medicine in Singapore?
